BISHOP’S MAKING THE RIGHT MOVES

TEENAGE shot-stopper Nathan Bishop is shining between the sticks for Southend – after deciding only a few years ago that it was his number one position.
When first-choice keeper Mark Oxley was waylaid with a back injury late last year, Shrimpers boss Chris Powell thrust the 19-year-old into the fray, handing him his full League One debut against Rochdale in December and, heading into the weekend, he had started every league game since.
However, Bishop has only been fully focused on goalkeeping for four years.
