SOUTHEND could have caused Michael Kightly to fall out of football – now, he’s giving his all to bring the good times back to Roots Hall.
The 32-year-old winger made 19 appearances for the Shrimpers between 2003 and 2005, scoring once, but was rendered surplus to requirement at his boyhood club at the age of 19.
It was a bitter pill to swallow but two successful seasons at Non-League Grays Athletic helped transform his fortune...
