MORECAMBE have suffered a major blow with the news that veteran striker Garry Thompson is likely to be out until Christmas after rupturing his Achilles tendon last Saturday.
The 37-year-old was stretchered off early on in the 1-0 defeat at Crewe.
“I knew I’d done something serious,” said Thompson, who re-signed for the Shrimps on a oneyear deal last June. “I just want to concentrate on getting myself back.”
