PURKISS PROUD TO TAKE PFA CHAIR

PRIDE is the first thing that comes to mind for- Swindon’s Ben Purkiss after he was named chairman of the Professional Footballers’ Association.
The 33-year-old defender will be taking over from fellow Yorkshireman Ritchie Humphreys, who is taking up a role in the PFA’s delegate liaison department.
Purkiss joined the Robins this summer following spells at Port Vale, Walsall, Oxford United and Sheffield United and is not daunted by the new role.
