ANYONE who is asked to be Sunderland manager is a lucky man, but to get hold of the current squad as well… Phil Parkinson must be rubbing his hands together.
I’ve seen them a couple of times this season and if you can get it right structurally - which Parky will - then there is huge potential.
I played against Parky several times down the years. He was a crash, bang, wallop midfielder who was very successful at Reading under Alan Pardew. A handful at set-pieces. A good League One or Two player.
