Aspin has his prayers answered by Pope

PORT Vale boss Neil Aspin tipped his cap to Tom Pope after seeing off Cheltenham Town to get his first win on the board as Valiants boss.
Pope’s double and a majestic volley from Ben Whitfield secured all three points for Vale to move them out of the relegation zone as Cheltenham had to settle for a late consolation from Kevin Dawson.
Aspin said “It’s a great feeling to win a game; it can be a problem when you’ve not won at home and today was a big step forward, and I was really pleased with the way they worked.
