VETERAN boss Steve Bruce has admitted he has been surprised by the standard of League One this season.
The 63-year-old joined Blackpool in September - his first job in management since leaving West Brom in 2022 - after Neil Critchley was sacked.
“League One has surprised me enormously with some of the quality,” he said.
“There’s some big clubs with big budgets so all the more to beat and it’s a really difficult year this year.”
In his first 15 games in charge of the Seasiders, Bruce has won seven games, drawn three and lost five which sees his side reside in 10th place in the league table.
