FLEETWOOD Town have a new number seven, bringing in flying winger Carlos Mendes Gomes on loan from Luton Town. The 23-year-old won plenty of admirers in the 2020/21 season, playing a key role in Morecambe’s promotion to League Two via the play-offs. The Dakar-born attacker found the net 15 times that season, winning Supporters’ Player of the Season and earning himself a move to The Hatters. However, Mendes Gomes played just 14 times and will be keen for game time at Highbury Stadium.
