ABIT of a technical battle was Portsmouth assistant manager Joe Gallen’s assessment as play-off contenders Portsmouth and Scunthorpe played out a stalemate at Fratton Park.
It was a hard-fought battle between two of the sides in the thick of the race to finish inside the top six.
Portsmouth had the better of the first half after Jamal Lowe, who signed a new contract in midweek, seized on a moment of defensive indecision from Neal Morris on 15 minutes to slide the ball home from an angle.
