Neil Warnock could - and probably should - have walked away from Huddersfield Town last season.
His return to the club in February, after a 28-year absence, was rapturously received, and the remarkable resurrection he orchestrated saw a Terriers side that had spent the entire campaign in the relegation zone surge to safety with embarrassing ease.
Cheered to the rafters after his final home game, he waved a tearful goodbye to supporters and pledged to enjoy his retirement on the Cornish coast.
