EVANS SO GLAD FOR O’KEEFE

GILLINGHAM boss Steve Evans admits vice-captain Stuart O’Keefe’s rapid recovery from what initially was feared to be a season-ending injury is a “real bonus” for the Gills.
O’Keefe suffered a broken leg against Coventry back in September, but he returned to action this month as a late substitute in the 1-0 win at Accrington.
Evans said of the 29-year-old midfielder: “Stuart is two months ahead of schedule and it’s a great reward for a true professional. “He’s on the cusp, a real bonus.”
