I’M not surprised to see Huddersfield struggling at the wrong end of the Championship. Or that Jan Siewert has lost his job.
Managing a relegated club isn’t easy, as I found at West Ham in 2011. There’s a depression that lies over the club. An undertone of discontent.
A clearout is inevitable, and the first thing that happens is you lose your best players. They’re on the most money, so they have to go.
Then you have to lose some of your coaching staff. The saddest thing of all is that you lose club staff, who might have been there for years.
