Ipswich clinch Premier return
Ecstatic Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna hailed his players as ‘incredible' after they clinched promotion to the Premier League by beating Huddersfield at a packed Portman Road.
Going into the game, the Tractor Boys knew a point would be enough to go up, but they bagged all three with a 2-0 success courtesy of goals from Wes Burns and Omari Hutchinson.
It means Ipswich will return to the top-flight after a 22-year absence.
They also became the first team since Southampton (2011 & 2012) to win successive promotions to the Premier League from League One.
Mastermind McKenna, 37, who took charge in late 2021, said: “With a lot of hard work, everyone together, it's amazing what you can do.
“The players have been an absolute privilege to work with in my first managerial job.
“What a journey it's been.”
