Six short years ago, Alan Judge dreamed of playing at Old Trafford and Anfield. On Saturday, his playing career may well have ended at Gander Green Lane.
The 34-year-old Irishman suffered a triple rupture of the ligaments in his left knee in Colchester’s 1-0 defeat to Sutton.

At the front end of 2016, the diminutive playmaker was untouchable for Championship Brentford. Goals, assists and man of the match awards piled up.
