CLEARED: Imran Louza

I’m pleased Imran Louza was absolved of spitting at a Swansea player in Watford’s 2-1 defeat at the Liberty last month.
Not because I think he’s innocent; I have no idea. But because the automatic six-game ban for spitting is ridiculous.

Yes, it’s disgusting. It sets a bad example, it’s disrespectful, and the severity of the sanction acts as a deterrent. All clear and understood.

Remember, though, that Ben Thatcher - then of Man City - received only two games more for a forearm smash that nearly killed Portsmouth’s Pedro Men...
