WELL done, Hull City and Grant McCann. The Tigers aren’t safe yet, but they’ve already put up more of a fight than many - myself include - thought possible.
After losing 1-0 at home to Coventry at the end of October, McCann looked beaten. Defiant, but beaten.
It was no surprise. His team, which at that stage had won just once in 14 games, looked a long way short of Championship standard and utterly doomed to an instant return to League One.
Yet pre-weekend they had taken 13 points from a possible 18 to become one of the form teams in the division.
