PAUL Tisdale is a great appointment for Bristol Rovers – but only as long as they let him be Paul Tisdale.
I don’t mean letting him wear his cravat and Paul Smith clobber. I mean letting him oversee everything, from youth development and playing style to recruitment of players. Exeter allowed him to do that and he rewarded them with two promotions and a reputation as one of the best footballing sides in the EFL. That still persists today.
