Port Vale appoint former Leeds midfielder Bruno Ribeiro as new manager

The 40-year-old has managed seven clubs in the past five years and was most recently in charge of Portuguese second division side Academico de Viseu.

Ribeiro has  managed in the Champions League when in charge of Bulgarian club Ludogorets in 2015.

After signing a three-year-contract, Ribeiro told Port 's official club website, “The club is fantastic. The people working here are fantastic too and together we can get the club to the . This is a Championship club.

“I'm very happy here, I will do my best. It is not easy now because we don't have many players.

“We need a good squad now. We need to buy some players or take some players and we will do our best until the end of the season.”
