New keeper Ward hailed by Saddlers boss Grant

WALSALL goalkeeper Jed Ward was praised by his ex-stopper boss Lee Grant after the Saddlers drew with Grimsby.
Ward, 23, earned the plaudits not only for chalking up his third straight clean sheet but his overall contribution to combating Grimsby’s set-piece threat.
“I’m not sure he could have had a better start, Jed’s been exceptional,” said Grant of the keeper signed from Bristol Rovers in the summer.
