HOWSON RETURN IS CLOSE…

MIDDLESBROUGH midfielder Jonny Howson says his hernia operation “went really well” and hopes to be back in action soon.
The 31-year-old went under the knife last Tuesday and admits he has been getting restless sitting on the sidelines.
“It’s all going okay”, said Howson. “I had the operation last Tuesday morning, surgery went really well.
“I’ve started to do bits now and from a personal point of view it’s nice – there’s nothing worse than not being able to do things and not being out on that football pitch.
