BEN SEEKS NEXT STEP

BEN Close has expressed his delight after signing a new deal at Portsmouth to keep him at the club until at least the summer of 2021.
Pompey also hold the option for a further 12 months for the 22-yearold midfielder, and Close, who has netted seven goals this term, said: “I’m delighted to be at the club for another few years and I can’t wait to kick on.
“The progress this club has made in the past few years shows we’re only moving in one direction.
“Hopefully we can make another step.”
