MASON Bennett hopes his “unorthodox” wonder goal against Wigan can turn around Derby’s season.
County were trailing 1-0 to Athletic at Pride Park when Bennett, a 57th-minute substitute, made an immediate impact.
The 22-year-old midfielder acrobatically flicked in a Scott Malone cross to level the scores, before the latter tapped in the winner.
The 2-1 victory boosted Derby’s hopes of reaching the play-offs, ending a run of three consecutive league defeats.
