A STUDY showing that sportsmen are eight times more likely to develop Motor Neurone Disease has again highlighted the need for research into the impact of heading footballs.
Though far from conclusive, the findings were based on a review of 16 studies into the disease undertaken by scientists from across the globe. In other words, pretty compelling. Thanks to the relentless campaigning of the Astle family, we already know that heading can cause dementia.
