CHRIS Powell has steered Southend away from relegation danger and, in Elvis Bwomono, he believes he has a gem.
The 19-year-old is a right-back by trade but has filled in on the left in recent weeks. Former England left-back Powell has been impressed at how the academy product has adapted to his new role.
