SHEFF ON DEAL FOR MARINERS

GARY McSheffrey cannot wait to get back out on the pitch after signing a shortterm deal with Grimsby.
The former Birmingham forward has been a free agent since leaving National League side Eastleigh in November.
After signing a deal with the Mariners until the end of the season, McSheffrey, 35, is simply looking forward to helping out his new side.
He said: “Nothing replaces playing matches but I’d like to think I can get up to the speed of things pretty quickly. “I’m coming in fresh and not really thinking about what has gone on here before.”
