LEEDS have made a bold start to the transfer window with Japanese international Yosuke Ideguchi close to signing.
Leeds have agreed a fee with Gamba Osaka to sign the midfielder, believed to be around £500,000, and are hopeful of completing the deal this week.
Ideguchi is then expected to be loaned out.
A club statement said Ideguchi, 21, who has ten caps for his country, will travel to England next week for a medical with a view to a permanent move to Elland Road.
Leeds have already signed Finnish defender Aapo Halme, 19, on a fouryear deal.
