Teams to take notice of in League Two

League Two may be the third and lowest division of the EFL, but that doesn’t mean it is devoid of teams to keep a close eye on. Quite the opposite, in fact. But which teams are these and why should you potentially be looking at placing a bet or two on them?

As things stand at the moment, there are three former Premier League clubs that are competing in League Two – Bradford City, Oldham Athletic and Swindon Town. Naturally, it would be common to think that because these teams have been in the best division within the EFL, they’d be ones to keep a watch over. However, that’s not specifically strictly true.

While Swindon Town remains high up on the League Two rankings, sitting in second position behind Crewe Alexandra – the other two have fallen into ninth and 19th positions, respectively. But let’s look at some of their other competition in League Two.

It would be remiss to not talk about Crewe Alexandra. After all, the team does sit at the top of the league table, having played 37 games and amassing 69 points, which is the same as Swindon Town (although the latter has only played 36 games). Last season, Crewe finished in 12th place, so there probably wasn’t much hope for the team to soar to the top of the leader board this time around, either. Eyes were actually on Mansfield and Forest Green Rovers – both of which just missed out on being promoted last season.

Bets Remained High on Mansfield Last Year and Followed Crewe This Season

For the 2018/19 season, bets remained quite high on the Mansfield side to edge their way into the top three. Yet, they were kept out of that spot by Milton Keynes Dons, who maintained a three-point lead on them. As it happens, one online sportsbook, 10Cric, saw many people making a move towards betting on Mansfield last season, and in this season, Crewe Alexandra has found itself being backed by bettors at the same site. Then again, there is the 10Cric bonus available there to claim upon registering and depositing. From that, you’re able to claim a 100% reward from a minimum deposit of ₹1000.

Alongside Crewe, the League Two table has seen quite a resurgence of play from Plymouth Argyle. The team was relegated from League One in the 2018/19 season, but currently sits in third position following the 2019/20 season, meaning that it is in prime position for returning to its former division stomping grounds. Unfortunately, there hasn’t been any decision made on the stability of this happening, with the team and fans having to wait until June 8 for something concrete.

Exeter City will be another one to keep an eye on in the future, as it just missed out on getting into League One by three points in the 2019/20 season. The team finished in ninth place in the 2018/19 season, and made it to the League Two playoffs this year. While a decision has yet to be reached on the promotions and relegations, the playoffs are expected to continue as normal for the season.
