300-up Pierce to power on

Skipper Pierce Sweeney says it is a ‘massive honour’ to have notched up 300 league appearances for Exeter City – and has already set his sights on playing at least 400 games for the Grecians!
The 29-year-old Irishman joined the Devon outfit after being released by Reading in 2016 and has gone on to become a mainstay in defence.
He suffered the pain of League Two play-off final defeat at Wembley three times in four years, so it’s no wonder that he looks back with real satisfaction at going up with Exeter as runners-up in 2021-22.
