VADAINE Oliver, the Gillingham striker, became the latest player to post an ‘apology’ tweet after he missed a penalty against Wycombe last week.
Bruno Fenandes did likewise for Manchester United and the practice was subsequently criticised and debated.
But look at it this way. If a player makes a mistake on the pitch, he’ll always walk into the dressing room and apologise. Is it any different to do the same thing in public?
