WEST Brom players have been warned they face a significant drop in income if they are relegated to the Championship.
Sorry, make that when they are relegated. The Baggies are doomed, and no financial incentive can alter the fact their squad is ill-equipped for top-flight survival.
What it does illustrate, however, is how sensibly the club is run. Too many Premier League teams shy away from relegation clauses, either in the form of wage reductions or low release fees for top players.
