Morgan Fox to miss the rest of the season

Sheffield Wednesday manager Jos Luhukay has confirmed that defender Morgan Fox will miss the rest of the season after the 24-year-old picked up an injury in Wednesday’s 3-1 victory at relegation threatened Sunderland on Easter Monday.

In a press conference this morning, the former Stuttgart boss confirmed that Fox is likely to be ruled out for around six weeks.

Fox joined Sheffield Wednesday for an undisclosed fee from Charlton Athletic in 2015 and has gone on to make 37 appearances for the Yorkshire side. The left-back has been a regular feature the Wednesday back line this campaign, featuring 20 times.

The 24-year-old came through the academy ranks at Charlton and spent time on loan at Notts County before fully breaking into the first team picture at the South London club during the 2014/15 season.

Back-to-back victories over the Easter weekend all but ended any fears among Wednesday fans of a potential relegation battle at the end of the season. Luhukay’s side are currently sitting in 16th place in the Championship, 12 points above the drop zone. Wednesday face high-flying Fulham at Hillsborough on Saturday.
