manager has admitted he is worried by his side's indifferent start to the new campaign, calling the situation ‘serious' but ‘not critical'.

The sit 18th in the table after 12 games, having failed to win in their last three league game while going scoreless in those fixtures also.

And while Hill has acknowledged that ambitions have been increased by the club exceeding expectations the last few years, he also admits results haven't been good enough so far this term.

“It's a good opportunity to take stock and see where we are,” he told the club's official website, “It's difficult at the minute and we're going through a hard period of our time at Rochdale Club.

“This is my ninth full season at the football club – the previous eight have seen us make the on two occasions, secure two promotions and achieve a top 10 finish four times in League One so we've not had too many difficult times.

“But this is difficult because we're not overachieving. In all of those season that I've previously mentioned we overachieved individually and collectively, and we are not doing that at this moment in time so it's important that we get back to that overachieving mentality.

“We're not at critical yet but this situation is serious because we're not scoring enough goals. We've got goals all over the pitch but it's important that the players realise that we're not just going to get goals because we've got attacking players in the side.”

Hill's men will look to rediscover that goalscoring habit when they travel to face at Highbury Stadium tomorrow.
