Garry Monk has continued his summer recruitment drive today with the signing of winger Marvin Johnson from League One Oxford United.
The 26-year-old has made a remarkable rise up the footballing pyramid in recent years, culminating in this career-changing switch to The Riverside.
Johnson began his career Solihull Moors in 2010, before moving on to Romulus and subsequently Kidderminster Harriers. He moved to Scottish side Motherwell in 2015, and then signed for Oxford on transfer deadline day last year.
He enjoyed a strong season with Pep Clotet's side last time out, making 52 appearances and scoring six goals in all competition.
Johnson will wear the number 21 shirt for the Teesside club, and has signed a three year deal.
He is the latest part of a busy summer of transfer for Garry Monk's side, as they look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
Johnson joins fellow new recruits Britt Assombalonga, Martin Braithwaite, Cyrus Christie and Darren Randolph amongst others.
