Cheltenham Town boss Gary Johnson is hoping to be back in the stands tomorrow afternoon, watching his side take on Morecambe, as he continues his recovery from triple-heart-bypass surgery.
The 61-year-old manager had the surgery on March 16th and has missed all of Cheltenham's games since while recuperating at hospital and at home.
However, tomorrow could mark his return to Whaddon Road – although he will watch from the terraces, not the touchline.
“I'm pretty sure I'll be well enough to go to the game and not feel stressed,” he told Radio Gloucestershire.
“I'll have an earpiece probably, to the dugout, and any decisions we can make we can all make together.”
The Robins have been badly struggling while Johnson has been away, with assistant boss Russell Milton overseeing the team lose their last four consecutive games to leave them perilously close to the relegation zone.
With seven games remaining, Cheltenham are just six points clear of the bottom two, and Johnson clearly can't wait to get back involved and help his side climb the table.
The former Yeovil and Bristol City boss said: “If I am sitting at home, I'm watching the results of our rivals in our league and, all of a sudden, the pressure is more by sitting at home and trying to relax.
“So I might be better off just being at one game, putting the effort that I can give into that, and hopefully we can get a result.
“I'll be sitting there with my wife next time – I can't get too excited if she is there.”
