Bristol City have finally signed Bournemouth midfielder Lee Tomlin on a three-year deal, following negotiations that began in May.
Tomlin enjoyed a successful loan spell last season with the Robins, leading Lee Johnson to describe him as ‘the most talented player at Championship level in terms of ability', upon signing the 27-year-old.
Manager Johnson told the club's website: “We're delighted to welcome Lee back to Ashton Gate. Credit has to go to the board for their efforts in getting this deal done.
“I believe we've signed the most talented player at Championship level in terms of ability. He was fantastic for us last season and I believe his best football is ahead of him.
“He does things every day in training that make you smile – you think how on earth has he done that?
“Hopefully it's a statement of intent. It shows the kind of football we want to play,” Johnson suggested.
The former Peterborough United player helped lift the Robins away from the clutches of relegation last season, scoring 7 goals in 28 appearances, and becomes the third new arrival at Ashton Gate this summer after Gary O'Neill and Josh Brownhill.
