Championship side Ipswich Town have agreed a deal to sign Adam Webster from Portsmouth.
Webster came through the youth ranks at Pompey and has been with the south coast club since the age of 12.
The 21-year-old has featured 35 times for the south coast club this season and played in Portsmouth”s FA Cup tie against Ipswich in January.
The deal will involve Ipswich's Matt Clarke making a permanent move in the opposite direction.
Clarke spent this season at Fratton Park where he became a regular feature in the Pompey back line, featuring 33 times for Paul Cook's side.
The 19-year-old is an academy graduate at Ipswich and has made four appearances for the Tractor Boys.
Portsmouth's season ended in heartbreak last month as they fell to defeat in the play off semi final against Plymouth after Peter Hartley scored an injury time goal to give the Pilgrims a 3-2 aggregate lead.
