Fleetwood manager has spoken of his admiration for boss , and believes the Kent club can still launch a play-off assault.

The currently find themselves struggling in 18th in with only one win in their last ten matches, and only bottom club having a leakier defence.

However Rosler believes they still have the credentials to earn a place in the top six; partly due to their resources, but mainly due to their boss.

The German told the Echo: ““I think he [] has worked himself up, similarly to like I did. I think that is always the right way.

“When you start too high too early it can burn your wings.

“He did a similar approach successfully and earned himself a move to the next level, did well and we compete now in the same league.”

Gillingham started the campaign as one of the favourites for promotion, having just missed out on the last season and investing well in a talented squad over the summer.

And despite their lowly position, Rosler is expecting another tough match, after his side lost to last weekend.

“I think Gillingham are a progressive club with good resources and I think it is a club that is pushing to be in the top six.' said Rosler.

“It will be a similar battle [to the Millwall match]. They have a good mixture of a certain way to play and obviously players for that certain way to play but also individually very good players.”
