Fleetwood Town have named former defender Chris Lucketti as their caretaker manager following the sacking of Graham Alexander yesterday.
Lucketti was Alexander's assistant but has been given the chance to coach the first team until a permanent manager is found. The 44 year-old represented a host of teams during his playing days before taking up coaching in 2010.
The caretaker boss, who is set to be assisted by development coach Barry Nicholsen, faces the difficult task of changing Fleetwood's fortunes on the pitch following Tuesday's 5-1 defeat to Gillingham.
Cod Army chairman Andy Piley confirmed that Lucketti will take charge of Fleetwood's trip to Scunthorpe on Saturday. However, it is unclear whether he will be considered in the selection process for the club's next permanent manager.
Fleetwood endured a difficult start to the season under Alexander and currently sit in 20th place in League One.
